7 Days Rongai Route
Rongai Route
The Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, near the Kenyan border. Known for its quieter paths and gradual ascent, this route offers a more remote and peaceful trekking experience compared to the busier southern routes.
The 7-day Rongai Route is ideal for climbers seeking a steady climb with good acclimatization and diverse scenery. It passes through remote wilderness, open moorlands, and alpine desert before reaching the summit. The descent is done via the Marangu Route, allowing trekkers to experience different sides of the mountain.
This route is perfect for those looking for a less crowded climb with a high chance of summit success.
Why Choose the Rangai Route
- Less Crowded – Quiet and remote trekking experience
- Gradual Ascent – Easier acclimatization profile
- Northern Approach – Unique perspective of Kilimanjaro
- High Success Rate – Well-paced 7-day itinerary
- Different Descent Route – Descend via Marangu Route
